Cheryl Cole has been named the world’s sexiest woman by readers of FHM magazine.

Cheryl, 25, is the first Briton to top the annual chart in three years.

Cole, who was named as the world’s best dressed woman by Glamour magazine earlier this month, came seventh in last year’s poll.

When it comes to her own body image, it seems Cheryl Cole is indeed a harsh critic.

Reviewing past photographs of herself, the singer recoiled in horror after catching a glimpse of a group shot of Girls Aloud in 2003, claiming she looked pregnant.

Clad in baggy green combat trousers, a matching vest and cap, Cheryl described herself as ‘huge’, despite looking perfectly normal to the casual observer.

Cheryl Cole has said she hates looking thin and gets nicknamed “flatty batty”.

The Girls Aloud singer, whose small frame has come under scrutiny, said it “destroys” her when girls get hung up about their bodies, telling Grazia magazine: “I don’t want to be thin, I hate looking thin.

“I don’t want to be up and down like a lollipop lady. It’s not a good look… I hate that women feel guilty about eating – just treat yourself.”

More details of a Cheryl Cole solo album have surfaced online.

Last week it was reported that the Girls Aloud singer was planning to record her first offshoot release, which would take an R&B direction.

Now a post made on the website of Danish production duo Soulshock & Karlin has claimed they are working with the X Factor judge.

Simon Cowell has said that claims that he demanded that Cheryl Cole take elocution lessons to get rid of her strong Geordie accent are “complete rubbish”.

Simon told Ross King on GMTV that these reports had been made up by the media and he was pleased to have the opportunity to set the record straight.

Simon said: “I am glad that you have asked me that as I have read that I have asked her to come out to America and I have insisted on elocution lessons. I didn’t invite her to come to America, we have never discussed it.

“And, if I did, I would want her to keep her accent.”

Girls Aloud have reportedly been taking pole dancing lessons in preparation for their new tour.

Cheryl Cole, Sarah Harding, Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts begin their Out Of Control arena tour of the UK next week and plan to wow fans with their raunchiest performance ever.

A source told The Sun: “The girls have been taking tips from some of the best pole dancers in the business to put together a really naughty dance routine for their song Fix Me Up, so each of the girls has their own podium-mounted pole to show off their skills and costumes.”

April 14, 2009: Cheryl Cole is spotted having dinner at Refuel Restarant at the Soho Hotel with an unknown male friend, while just a few miles down the road her husband Ashley was Playing For Chelsea FC v Liverpool FC in the Champions League Quarter Final. Cheryl was at the Soho Hotel last night with the rest of Girls Aloud for a photo shoot for the band’s upcoming tour later this month. Cheryl looked gorgeous as always, as she exited the hotel with a big smile on her face.

Cheryl Cole has reportedly started working on an R&B-inspired solo album.

The Girls Aloud singer, who previously collaborated with will.i.am on ‘Heartbreaker’, is said to be eager to record music more similar to her own tastes.

“The solo stuff Cheryl’s been working on is R&B-based, as that’s her favourite kind of music,” a source told Heat.

Cheryl Cole has reportedly amassed a personal fortune of £10 million since appearing on Popstars: The Rivals in 2002.

Cole has earned almost double that of fellow band members Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh and Sarah Harding, according to The Mirror.

Cole has allegedly so far secured £2.25m as a judge on The X Factor, £4.8m from Girls Aloud record sales, commercial deals and touring, £1m for selling a mansion and a further £1m from photo rights to her wedding.
