Cheryl Cole has reportedly dumped hubby Ashley by text, following tabloid revelations about a string of alleged affairs the Chelsea left back is supposed to have had.

Cheryl is said to have texted Ashley to tell him the news, saying simply: “Move out. It’s over.” She fled to Los Angeles after a series of newspaper stories alleged that the footballer had cheated on her with five other women. The couple are now expected to be granted a ‘quickie’ divorce.

Cheryl may miss out on a place on the US version of The X Factor because producers want home-grown stars to take most of the show’s main roles, a report has claimed.

According to the Daily Star, TV bosses are unlikely to back Simon Cowell’s rumoured desire to have three British faces on the forthcoming programme.

Cowell has already confirmed that he is to appear as a judge on the US X Factor when it launches on Fox in 2011.

Cheryl Cole says she can’t wait to reunite with Girls Aloud, saying she is “excited” at the prospect of getting back together with the group. She told New! Magazine this week: “I think it will be exciting! It will feel like we were never apart. But I see them all the time, and when I haven’t seen them I hear from them a lot, too.”

“They are my best friends. Not in a cheesy way, but you can tell how close we are by the length of our career – knowing them from being a 19-year-old teenager to a 26-year-old woman.”

According to the Daily Star, Ashley would be made to answer a series of questions about his alleged infidelities.

A friend of Cole told the publication, last night: “At least by doing a lie detector test Cheryl will know one way or another whether what Ashley tells her is true or just a pack of lies.

Cheryl Cole was yesterday holed up at a top Los Angeles hotel after telling staff: “I just want to be left alone.”

Cheryl made the plea as she checked into Chateau Marmont amid the furore over husband Ashley’s alleged cheating.

Cheryl, 26, is staying in a £1,000-a-night bungalow in the hotel grounds while recording at a nearby studio.

A source said: “She looked tired and withdrawn after the long flight. She just wanted to go to sleep and have time by herself. It’s been a hard few days.”

Thieves tried to break into Cheryl and Ashley Cole’s £3.5million mansion early this morning at around 4:30am in an apparent attempt to steal Cheryl’s wedding rings.

The attempted burglary came just hours after Cheryl was pictured flying to Los Angeles without her wedding ring on.

Ashley was woken at 4.30am as thieves tried to force entry at the Surrey mansion.

Cheryl Cole is to divorce husband Ashley after a string of revelations about his alleged infidelity, the Daily Mail has reported.

Friends claim that a split will be announced ‘within weeks’ after she flew to Los Angeles without her wedding ring. They say Cheryl has gone beyond the point of ‘riding out’ the storm over their relationship.

‘She loves Ashley, he is the love of her life, but there is only so much she will take.

‘Cheryl is exhausted with it all. There was a point when she was going to ride it all out, but she has heard rumours of more women and cannot face it. They will split within weeks.’

The couple failed to sign a pre-nuptial agreement before their lavish wedding in July 2006, meaning a split is likely to result in a costly divorce battle.
